1. Presidential Scholarship Program

Bethany has launched a new entrance scholarship program, effective fall 2010. All applicants for admission will be considered for this scholarship program.  Scholarships will be awarded using the following scale and award amounts will be determined at the time of acceptance based on the student’s admissions average.  These scholarships are renewable each year if the specified cumulative GPA is achieved.

Incoming GPA or percentage is based on:

  • Canadian & US students – percentage in academic/college preparation courses
  • International students – either SAT or ACT scores
  • All home school students – either SAT or ACT scores
  • Students transferring in – cumulative GPA if had been a full-time student, if not, high school transcript, SATs or ACTs


2. MK Scholarship (4 Year Renewable Scholarship)

Partnering with Missionary Families for Ministerial Education

This scholarship program is restricted to dependent children of missionaries under current appointment. Preference is given to dependent children of Wesleyan missionaries, recognizing the unique financial pressures facing families involved in overseas ministry. A letter from the supervising missions organization stating the current status of applicants parents must accompany the application.

Program Features:
  • Students are mentored by Bethany’s veteran missionary, Dr. William Peed.
  • Fellowship is provided with other Bethany international students through the campus International Leaders Roundtable.
  • Students are given the opportunity to help create on the College campus and beyond, a greater awareness of issues facing global evangelization and international ministry.
  • Students are led in assisting other international Wesleyan ministerial students attending Bethany with issues of cultural adjustment and social dislocation.

Details:

  • Renewable providing students maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and fully participate in the program
  • Award: 1/2 tuition - $3,950

Criteria:

  • A call into ministry along with appropriate gifts and graces
  • Accepted into a degree program at Bethany Bible College
  • A full-time, resident student who is considered an exemplary spiritual leader


3. International Wesleyan Ministerial Scholarship (full tuition scholarship)


Preparing Spiritual Leaders for The Wesleyan Church around the World

In its commitment to prepare spiritual leaders for The Wesleyan Church internationally, the International Wesleyan Ministerial Scholarship program provides assistance to students with potential as emerging Christian leaders from economically challenged countries of the world.

Program Features

  • Students are mentored by Bethany’s veteran missionary, Dr. William Peed.
  • Fellowship and encouragement is provided through other Bethany international students’ participation in the campus International Leaders Roundtable.
  • Program participants will be given the opportunity to assist other Bethany students with more clearly understanding the international Church and issues facing the global Christian community.

Details

  • Renewable providing students maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and fully participate in the program.
  • Award: Full tuition scholarship - $7,900

Criteria

  • Recommended through personal acquaintance by District, General, or Field Superintendent and Missionary
  • An exemplary student & spiritual leader
  • A member of The Wesleyan Church
  • A full-time, resident, student accepted into a degree program at the College
  • A letter of intent expressing commitment to return to their home country for ministerial service in The Wesleyan Church

A working knowledge of the English language: TOEFL score minimum of 500 (paper based) or 173 (computer based)



The following Scholarships are not available for application on-line.


4. Entrance Scholarships (up to $350)


All incoming freshmen are considered for one or more of these scholarships, which are awarded according to criteria established by the donor of the scholarship. Discuss availability and eligibility with your admissions counselor

 


5. Wesleyan Campus Challenge/Wesleyan Bible Bowl Scholarships

(up to $1,000 per semester)


Bethany honors educational scholarship certificates awarded to winners in the WCC and WBB competitions. Recipients of WCC or WBB scholarships must submit their original signed certificate(s) to receive their scholarship award. Awards are disbursed as follows:

  • Up to $1,000 per semester or 1/8 of the total value of certificate(s), whichever is greater.
  • Combined total of WCC/WBB awards plus institutional financial aid cannot exceed the total costs of tuition during any semester.
  • Award amount is in Canadian dollars.

Please advise your BBC admissions counselor of the fact that you have the scholarship certificate(s) when applying for admission.

 


6. Returning Student Annual Scholarships (up to $2,200 per year)


Current full-time Bethany students may apply for these scholarships which are awarded annually to returning students. Awarded according to criteria established by scholarship donors.

7. Toyota Earth Day Scholarship (see website for details)


Deadline to apply is Feburary 28, 2010

This program will reward 20 graduating high school students from across Canada with a $5,000 scholarship for their post-secondary education. They can be used for any field of study and are given in recognition for environmental work and leadership through school and community initiatives.
