Student Ministry Credit
Eligibility:
Students who have successfully completed Grade 11 or 12
Requirements:
- Attend a teaching session on reflective thinking/writing to be held during rehearsal week.
- Sign a Student Ministry Contract indicating their intent to complete the requirements for the credit.
- Complete daily journal reflections on the Exalt! experience. Journal entries will be expected to be completed by noon each day. Journal entries must be typed before submission.
- Write a two-page reflection paper on the Exalt! experience after the event is finished. The paper must be typed and presented in the format for papers outlined in the BBC Style Booklet, available at http://wwww.bbc.ca/academics/Style%20Booklet%202006.pdf.
- Submit by email the reflection paper and journal to the Director of Student Ministries (starksr@bbc.ca) for review within two weeks of the conclusion of the Exalt! tour. Documents must be submitted as an attachment in .rtf format.
Additional information- The Director of Student Ministries will assign a grade for each student and submit it to the Registrar’s Office.
- Student Ministry credit will be held in escrow at the College, to be applied to a college transcript upon completion of two semesters of full-time study at BBC.
- An Exalt! staff member will serve as the student’s ministry supervisor and will complete an evaluation of each student. Ideally this evaluation will be completed before the end of tour and the supervisor will review it with the student before submitting it to the Director of Student Ministries.
- If a student signs a contract but fails to submit the requirements by the due date, the contract will be considered null and will be treated as if the student had not registered for the credit.
- The maximum number of student ministry credits that can be earned through the Exalt! program is one.
